| Noel Ross-Russell was born in Southsea, England and studied at the Royal College of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. For some years he played the trumpet with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and also freelanced as a conductor. Later he emigrated to Canada, where he taught music at the McGill Conservatory, and theatre arts at the Montreal Fine Arts School. It was in Canada that his talents as an actor were first employed and he worked in radio, television and films. During the last twenty years he has lived in Canada the UK and Holland and music and psychology have been the chief areas of his interest as a writer. He is an accredited counsellor. Noel has written and produced a number of documentaries, including Six Lessons and 75th Birthday Tribute with Lord Yehudi Menuhin. Looking Ahead was inspired by Jacqueline du Pré. No Doubt About It followed and in Don't Turn Away he collaborated with Simon Callow. He is the author of two novels: Serenade of Fear and A Voice Within and a biography of the internationally acclaimed tenor Richard Lewis, There will I Sing. His one man play based on the life of W.S. Gilbert, A Great Victorian, has been performed by Nicholas Parsons in Edinburgh and Chichester. He now lives in The Hague and spends part of the year in England. All information from:
